FAQ

  • How does this work?

You put hours into picking out your fabric, selecting a pattern, and piecing the top together. Maybe it’s been sitting in a closet for months, waiting for inspiration to hit again. Or maybe you just finished it and have 2 weeks before you need to gift it. The next step is simple: send it to me to get it quilted! No basting, no wrestling it through your machine! I’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

  • Is my quilt good enough?

I have made more than 100 quilts, and had ONE sent to a longarmer. I was petrified it wasn’t good enough and would fall apart if someone looked at it the wrong way. (It didn’t.) I can assure you that your quilt is GOOD ENOUGH. It is in good hands and I will do anything I can to make sure it looks great and will last for years to come.

  • How much does it cost?

I charge $0.02 cents per square inch to quilt your quilt top.

For example, your completed quilt top is 60 x 70 inches = 4200 square inches
    4200 x $0.02 = $84.00

    Minimum charge is $30.

  • What do I need to do to prepare?

Make a beautiful quilt top (check!) Press all your seams and clip any extra threads. Make sure your backing is 4” bigger on each side. You can send your batting to me (making sure it’s 4” bigger) or you can elect to have me use my own batting at an extra $0.39/square inch. I use Quilter’s Dream Cotton. Please do not baste your quilt! I need the top, batting, and backing separately to load it correctly on my machine. (YAY NO BASTING!)

  • Next...time for decisions

Do you want your piecing to be the show? Do you want the quilting to pop or blend in? Do you have a quilting design in mind? I offer hand-guided edge-to-edge designs, which means your quilt will have the same design on it all over. No computer here, it’s all by me! I do not offer custom quilting designs at this time.

  • Can you piece my backing?

I will gladly piece your backing for you! I charge $10. I charge $20 if the backing needs pattern matched.

  • Will you trim and bind my quilt for me?

I will gladly trim your quilt for you! It’s a lot of material to wrestle. I charge $10 to trim. I do not offer quilt binding at this time.

  • What's the timeline?

When you submit your request form, I will be in touch within 48 hours. Currently, I ask for 4-6 weeks to longarm your quilt with the utmost care.

  • How does shipping work?

I am located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. If you are local (Waynesboro, Fayetteville, Gettysburg, Shippensburg, or anywhere in Franklin County), let me know and we can arrange a time to meet/drop off. If you are shipping your quilt to me, you are responsible for shipping costs to and from. I will ship quilts at the lowest possible cost. You will see this on your final invoice.
